Below are the instructions for how I made this Harry Potter Gryffindor inspired scarf.
PLEASE NOTE that the instructions are given in UK terminology.
This is not vital to this pattern providing your tension is even throughout.
ch - chain dc - double crochet
Using Claret, ch26
Row 1: dc in second ch from hook, dc across
Row 2: ch1, turn, dc across
Rows 3 - 30: Repeat Row 2
Change to Gold
Rows 31 and 32: Repeat Row 2
Change to Claret
Rows 33-36: Repeat Row 2
Change to Gold
Rows 37 and 38: Repeat Row 2
Keeping with the colour changes throughout repeat rows 3-38 until you reach the desired length.
Work two further rows in Claret before fastening off (this equals the end section of Claret to the starting section of Claret which was 30 rows rather than the 28 rows worked between each set of Gold bands).
Sew in any ends.
Rejoin Claret and work dc along the two long edges of the scarf.
Make 14 tassels along each end of the scarf spaced equally. I used 5 strands of yarn for each tassel (giving 10 strands once doubled over). Ensure all tassels are secured tightly.
I hope you enjoyed making the Harry Potter Gryffindor inspired Scarf and that the recipient enjoys wearing it!
